Senior Spotlight: Kylie

Some seniors show up a little nervous.

Kylie showed up ready to be herself.

That’s what made her session stand out right from the start. There wasn’t any pressure to fit into a box or chase a trend. She leaned into who she is, and that’s where the magic happened.

Kylie is a senior at Poplar Springs with a love for math. Not just because she’s good at it, but because she enjoys the challenge. She’s the kind of person who likes to push herself, figure things out, and grow through the process. That mindset says a lot about who she is beyond the classroom.

Outside of school, she’s involved in theater, which makes perfect sense once you meet her. She knows how to express herself, how to step into a moment, and how to bring energy when it matters. That confidence carried straight into her session.

Looking ahead, Kylie has big plans. She wants to become a Certified Midwife Practitioner. What started as curiosity from watching her cousin turned into something much deeper. The more she learned, the more she saw how much of that world is built on trust, relationships, and creating a safe space for others. That tells you everything you need to know about her heart.

When it came to her senior session, Kylie didn’t hold back.

She said her favorite part was how free she felt. That freedom to just be herself, to express who she is without overthinking it, is exactly what we want every senior to experience.

And if you want a perfect example of rolling with the moment, her session delivered.

Right at the beginning, the rain came in. Not a light drizzle either. Full-on pouring rain. Most people would’ve panicked or called it, but not Kylie. We pivoted, pulled out a couch, and made something completely unexpected out of it. Those are the moments you can’t plan, and honestly, they end up being the ones you remember the most.

If Kylie could tell future seniors one thing, it would be this: have fun and do what you want, not what everyone else expects. This is your session. Your story. There’s no reason to play it safe.

Kylie didn’t.

And that’s exactly why her session turned out the way it did.

Authentic, confident, and completely her.
